Your grand anti-steering effort in Kalifornia could be setting the stage for another disaster… for both DRPs and independent shops. What a shock, huh?
Included in the proposed regulation you and your ilk desire is this little tidbit:
(e) Nothing in this article restricts the ability of an insurer to explain contractual provisions of the insurance policy to the claimant, including the insurer’s obligation to pay only costs that are reasonably necessary to restore the damaged vehicle to its pre-accident condition.
This would apply to first and third party situations.
So Leader Lee, who will decide what “costs” are “reasonably necessary”? Your DRP brethren? (LMAO :D )
