I attended a local meeting of repair shops, most of which are heavily tied to DRP arrangements. As the meeting began, the moderator asked everyone for five dollars with no mentioning of why he was collecting it. Midway through the meeting and after one speaker finished, he stepped in front of the group and asked if anyone knew why he asked for the five dollar bill. Most assumed it was for a door prize and others suggested he needed a stimulus since business was down. His purpose for asking was to offer an example that if a repair shop simply asked politely for payment for certain services, that often an insurer would pay and the more people that would ask, all would recieve benefit from the unified effort.
Many of them are sitting around asking themselves today why their business flow is idle or extremely slow. Seems ironic that those who deem that they should ask for payment from insurance partners instead of demanding payment from vehicle owners are currently suffering hardships and are delusional about ever getting treated fairly from their partners.
