Get Real.... Electric Cars?

Reading the news this morning, I'm seeing reports of rolling blackouts and power grids that are overloaded all over the country. Who is the genius that figured out that electric vehicles would be saving the planet? With a moratorium on coal fired and nuclear power plants, where is the additional electricity supposed to come from to power the electric vehicles that Washington has decided we need, the same Washington that decided we can't have any more plants generating electricity.
I guess the next bright idea will be to equip electric vehicles with windmills on the roof to generate their own electricity as they go down the road.

a buddy of mine who worked the control room of a coal fired power plant for twenty-five years is now unemployed because the government has mandated six of the "coal plants" this company owns be shut down. You have to wonder what the brain trusts are thinking... without coal and nuclear, most of us are going to be sitting in the dark. Of course some of us will be sitting in the dark clutching our rifles. :rolleyes:
