The fundamental problem with our medical insurance industry is that they do not have to compete against all other companies in all states. They have protected market areas where the competition is limited to just a handful of companies, allowing them to fix rates and practices more easily. If there is total free market competition, premium costs will go down and the level of care will go up.
The insurance industry is the most corrupt in our country and they have devoted years to putting large amounts of money in all the right pockets to ensure they can do as they wish without fear of exposure.
